Anatomy for Vinyasa Flow and Standing Poses by Ray Long
This book is brilliant in that it is down to earth, hugely informative, and very practical. It feels impossible for me to absorb everything in it. It’s more like a reference book that I’ll absorb over time. I need to keep looking things up in it and working my way through sequences in a disciplined way, paying attention to every small detail until it becomes a smooth flow. I’m in the plane right now and excited to work through and really get a feel for what he is illustrating.
I have appreciated the three books so far on our reading list. Each one takes quite a different approach to presenting yoga – a historic description, new agey spiritual advice, and an anatomical one.
